Resumo: Nesta tese, nos propomos a discutir problemas nos estudos da Libras - Língua Brasileira de Sinais e o seu status, tendo em vista a emergência de sinais a partir de emblemas Destacamos que a Libras, como qualquer língua natural, não está isolada linguística e socialmente, tendo contato com várias outras línguas orais usadas no Brasil, como línguas indígenas, português, italiano, inglês, entre outras e línguas de sinais de outros países como a Língua de Sinais Francesa (LSF), Língua de Sinais Americana (ASL) e Língua de Sinais Italiana (LIS), entre outras. Esta tese se fundamenta no fato de que os gestos, o seu subtipo emblema, que constituem o léxico, são normalmente deixados de lado, não recebendo tratamento devido na literatura. e muitos pesquisadores conhecidos pelos estudos sobre gestos, como David Efron (1942, 1972), Ekman e Friesen (1969), Kendon (1988), McNeill (1992, 2000), sempre discorrem que quando envolvem na defendem que, no processo de comunicação, sempre estão presentes o movimento em das mãos, cabeça, braços e todo o corpo. Para Kendon (2004) e, McNeill (1992, 2000), as línguas orais, fala e gestos são manifestações da língua. Para essa discussão, se faz necessário compreendermos, como se deram a evolução da Libras de acordo com acompanha a história dos surdos brasileiros, a educação de Surdos,; os estudos de descrição linguística de língua de sinais brasileira e aspectos sociolinguísticos relacionados à Libras e à Comunidade Surda. Para melhor contextualizar a pesquisa, nos debruçamos sobre ; o estudo dos gestos, especificamente, os emblemas usados no Brasil, que foram trazidos na migração italiana; e também os emblemas franceses que foram trazidos com a Língua de Sinais Francesa, e bem como os emblemas brasileiros e italianos que a Libras teve contato e suas mudanças desde da escola do INES até dias de hoje. O projeto de tese apresenta uma resenha dos estudos linguísticos da Libras, dos estudos sociolinguísticos e dos estudos de gestos. Como uma contextualização dos estudos linguísticos sobre a Libras, iniciados no final dos anos 1980 por Lucinda F. Brito (1984, 1990, 1993, 1995), uma das primeiras pesquisadoras que estudou a Libras e posteriormente, outros linguistas que estudam Libras mostram alguns exemplos dos aspectos da estrutura da língua de sinais usada na comunidade surda brasileira. Os gestos têm sido objeto de estudo desde a Antiguidade. A tese investiga os empréstimos dos emblemas na constituição de sinais da Libras, verificando quais dos emblemas observados nos dicionários da Libras, que podem fazer parte do léxico da Libras. A Metodologia da tese foi desenvolvida por etapas, sendo a primeira a coleta dos emblemas italianos, franceses e brasileiros, a segunda etapa a coleta dos sinais em Libras por meio de 4 dicionários, Gama (1875), Oates (1969), INES (2006) e Capovilla, Raphael e Mauricio (2009). A terceira etapa, foram feitas um a investigação e comparação dos emblemas coletados com os sinais da Libras e a última etapa a análise e identificação dos parâmetros dos emblemas que participam dos sinais coletados. Como resultado, foi possível verificar e comprovar que os emblemas, por diferentes parâmetros, entram e fazem parte da composição dos sinais em Libras.

Abstract: In this thesis, we propose to discuss problems in the studies of Libras - Brazilian Sign Language and its status, in view of the emergence of signs from emblems. We emphasize that Libras, like any natural language, is not isolated linguistic and socially, having contact with several other oral languages used in Brazil, such as indigenous languages, Portuguese, Italian, English, among others and sign languages from other countries such as French Sign Language (LSF), American Sign Language (ASL) and Italian Sign Language (LIS), among others. This project is based on the fact that gestures, their emblem subtype, which make up the lexicon are usually left out, not receiving due treatment in the literature and many researchers known in the studies of gestures like David Efron (1942, 1972), Ekman and Friesen (1969), Kendon (1988), McNeill (1992, 2000) always argue that when they involve in communication, they always move their hands, head, arms and the whole body. For Kendon (2004), McNeill (1992, 2000) oral languages, speech and gestures are manifestations of the language. For this discussion it is necessary to understand, how the evolution of Libras accompanies the history of the Brazilian deaf, the education of the Deaf; studies of Brazilian sign language and its sociolinguistic elements; to better contextualize the research; the study of gestures, specifically, the emblems used in Brazil, which were brought in the Italian migration; and also the French emblems that were brought with the French sign language, as well as the Brazilian and italian emblems that Libras had contact with and their changes since the INES school until today. The thesis project presents a review of Libras linguistic studies, sociolinguistic studies and gesture studies. As a contextualization of linguistic studies on the Brazilian Sign Language - Libras, started in the late 1980s by Lucinda F. Brito (1984, 1990, 1993, 1995) one of the first researchers who studied Libras and later, other linguists who study Libras show some examples of the aspects of the sign language structure used in the Brazilian deaf community. Gestures have been the subject of study since antiquity. The thesis investigates the loan of the emblems in the constitution of the sign of Libras (Brazilian sign language), verifying which of the emblems observed in the dictionaries of Libras, which may be part of the lexicon of Libras. The thesis methodology was developed in stages, the first being the collection of Italian, French and Brazilian emblems, the second stage the collection of signs in Libras through 4 dictionaries, GAMA, OATES, INES and CAPOVILLA, RAPHAEL & MAURICIO, the third stage the investigation and comparison of the badges collected with the signs of Libras and the last step the analysis and identification of the parameters of the badges that participate in the collected signs. Through researching this thesis, it was possible to verify and prove that the emblems, by different parameters, enter and are part of the composition of the signs in Libras.
