| Resumo |
Tradicionalmente o aprendiz de uma segunda língua busca traduzir palavra por palavra a fim de construir uma interpretação coerente. Postura que dificulta o desenvolvimento da aprendizagem, pois todo idioma tem collocations, ou seja, há estruturas que são mais usadas e preferidas em relação a outras. Um falante nativo percebe imediatamente quando o interlocutor desconhece o funcionamento real do idioma, mesmo sendo capaz de compreender o enunciado produzido. Pensando nisso, este trabalho tem como objetivo descrever algumas colocações da língua inglesa por meio da Teoria dos Esquemas de Imagens vinculada ao modelo da Linguística Cognitiva. Optamos, ainda, por inserir uma breve explicação sobre os provérbios, pois todo aprendiz ao ler um jornal ou uma revista depara-se com essas expressões que são frequentes na mídia norte-americana. De um modo geral, pretendemos evidenciar que a linguagem corporificada (LAKOFF; JOHNSON, 1980) e a teoria da simulação (BERGER, 2012) contribuem de maneira efetiva para a concretização da aprendizagem, pois o aprendiz é capaz de relacionar o conhecimento com sua experiência.

ABSTRACT
Traditionally the learner of a second language search translates word for word in order to construct a coherent interpretation. Posture that hampers the development of learning, because every language has collocations, in other words, there are structures that are most commonly used and preferred over other. A native speaker knows immediately when the other party is unaware of the real function of language, even being able to understand the utterance produced. With that in mind, this work aims to describe some collocations of English language through the Theory of Image Schemas linked to the model of Cognitive Linguistics. We still, insert a brief explanation of the proverbs, because every learner to read a newspaper or a magazine is facing these expressions, which are frequent in American media. In General, we intend to demonstrate that the embodied language (LAKOFF; JOHNSON. 1980) and the Simulation Theory (BERGER, 2012) contribute effectively to the implementation of learning because the learners are able to relate the knowledge with your experience.
