RESUMO
Figura ímpar na Literatura brasileira, Lourenço Mutarelli evoca ricamente em sua escrita o horror, o bizarro, o feio e o abjeto. Tecendo uma representação peculiar da realidade contemporânea, chama a atenção o traço perturbador que sua produção como um todo apresenta ao leitor. Buscando investigar os sentidos e a construção dessa perturbação, este trabalho dedica-se a analisar as configurações da estética grotesca em sua obra a partir de dois romances fundamentais do autor: O cheiro do ralo (2002) e Miguel e os demônios (2009). Partindo das premissas das principais teorias do grotesco, o presente trabalho procura analisar estruturalmente e esteticamente as figurações grotescas dos romances, estabelecendo uma leitura que busca considerar o imenso referencial simbólico, cultural, histórico e intertextual que as obras do autor tecem. Sua construção do grotesco, contudo, apresenta um extravasamento do campo semântico que ecoa e contamina também o campo do próprio discurso narrativo. Visamos, portanto, compreender como o ilogismo mutarelliano edifica-se a partir da construção tanto temática quanto estrutural de uma visão grotesca sobre o real, resultando em uma mímese própria e profundamente singular ao autor em questão. Tendo em vista este objetivo, foi-nos possível compreender de forma mais acertada o lugar ocupado pela obra de Mutarelli enquanto representativa e crítica da sociedade contemporânea, bem como o lugar que o grotesco ocupa na mímese de seus romances.

ABSTRACT
A unique figure in Brazilian Literature, Lourenço Mutarelli richly evokes horror, the bizarre, the ugly and the abject in his writing. Weaving a peculiar representation of contemporary reality, the disturbing trait that his production as a whole presents to the reader calls attention. Seeking to investigate the meanings and construction of this disturbance, this work is dedicated to analyzing the configurations of the grotesque aesthetic in his work from two fundamental novels by the author: O cheiro do ralo (2002) and Miguel e os demônios (2009). Starting from the premises of the main theories of the grotesque, the present work seeks to analyze structurally and aesthetically the grotesque figurations of the novels, establishing a reading that seeks to consider the immense symbolic, cultural, historical and intertextual reference that the author's works weave. His construction of the grotesque, however, presents an overflow of the semantic field that echoes and also contaminates the field of the narrative discourse itself. We aim, therefore, to understand how the mutarellian illogism is built from both the thematic and structural construction of a grotesque view of reality, resulting in a mimesis that is unique and profoundly unique to the author in question. With this in mind, it was possible for us to better understand the place occupied by Mutarelli's work as a representative and critic of contemporary society, as well as the place that the grotesque occupies in the mimesis of his novels.
