| Resumo |
Resumo: O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a presença da melancolia como força
mobilizadora do enredo no romance Perto Do Coração Selvagem de Clarice Lispector,
partindo inicialmente de uma breve contextualização histórica da melancolia e em
seguida definindo-se quais os principais autores serão usados como suporte teórico que
estão citados abaixo. Pelo viés do cruzamento da literatura com a filosofia, a
personagem principal, Joana, será apontada em uma análise mais detalhada na
construção de sua subjetividade a partir de suas provocações a uma sociedade
tradicional através da alteridade com outros personagens. Vale-se, então, da percepção
da linguagem com seus paradoxos e suas quebras frasais em que a força da palavra
dialetiza com a melancolia dando pistas de um olhar estético na propulsão do enredo
melancólico. A seguir, utilizando-se do estudo da linguagem com o olhar específico nas
figuras metafóricas e paradoxais far-se-á o levantamento da presença melancólica no
romance Perto do Coração Selvagem. A partir desse levantamento, propõe-se uma
análise teórico filosófica através dos textos de Walter Benjamin, Freud, Susana Kampff
Lages, Jeana Laura da Cunha Santos, além de Yudith Rosenbaum, Gilberto Martins,
Benedito Nunes e Olga de Sá fundamentais para o entendimento do mundo clariciano
em que solidão, liberdade, felicidade e melancolia definem o tom da obra.

Abstract: The present work aims to analyze the presence of melancholy as a mobilizing force of
the plot in Clarice Lispector's novel Perto Do Coração Selvagem, starting first from a
brief historical contextualization of melancholy and then defining which the main
authors will be used as theoretical support which are cited below. Through the
definition of the intersection of literature with philosophy, the main character, Joana,
will be pointed out in a more detailed analysis in the construction of her subjectivity
from her provocations to a traditional society through otherness with other characters.
This analysis will be based on the perception of language with its paradoxes and phrasal
interruption in which the strength of the word dialects with melancholy, giving clues to
an aesthetic look in the propulsion of the melancholic plot. Then, using the study of
language with a specific look at metaphorical and paradoxical figures, a survey of the
melancholic presence in the novel Perto do Coração Selvagem will be carried out.
Based on this survey, a philosophical theoretical analysis is proposed through the texts
of Walter Benjamin, Freud, Susana Kampff Lages, Jeana Laura da Cunha Santos, in
addition to Yudith Rosenbaum, Gilberto Martins, Benedito Nunes and Olga de Sá who
are fundamental for understanding the clariciano world in which loneliness, freedom,
happiness and melancholy set the tone of the work.
