| Resumo |
Resumo: As terapias corporais no Brasil surgem em meados dos anos 1960 como um modelo
alternativo de prática terapêutica, tendo como uma de suas influências principais a
“orgonoterapia" de Wilhelm Reich, modelo terapêutico que postulava que “as enfermidades
psíquicas são o resultado do caos sexual da sociedade”, advogando, assim, um novo modelo de
vivenciar a sexualidade. A presente pesquisa busca investigar historicamente o advento das
terapias corporais no Brasil nos anos 60, 70 e 80 e de que forma esse paradigma terapêutico se
relaciona com a educação sexual da época. A história da educação sexual, sua relação com o
campo médico e a possibilidade de cruzamento com o aspecto terapêutico das terapias corporais
é observada. O objetivo desta investigação é localizar, compilar e analisar criticamente a
produção bibliográfica que aborda especificamente as terapias corporais e a sua relação com a
educação sexual a partir do contexto histórico das transformações sociais que ocorreram nestas
décadas. Utilizamos como ferramentas metodológicas os conceitos de dispositivo e sexualidade
oferecidos por Michel Foucault em sua História da Sexualidade e a obra escrita de Wilhelm
Reich sobre a função do orgasmo, a fim de melhor compreender como se deu a chegada e a
disseminação das terapias corporais no Brasil, o contexto histórico no qual se difundiram, o
desenvolvimento, ou mesmo censura, em relação à educação sexual no período, bem como as
ramificações e desdobramentos advindos daí. A análise apontou que a chegada e difusão das
terapias corporais funcionou como uma espécie de educação sexual, cujo foco no corpo e um
olhar mais terapêutico do que pedagógico delimitou o seu campo de atuação para o interior do
universo da Psicologia após a sua formalização, um caminho que possibilitou estar
relativamente livre da censura durante a ditadura militar no Brasil.

Abstract: Body therapies in Brazil emerged in the mid-1960s as an alternative model of therapeutic
practice, having as one of its main influences Wilhelm Reich's “orgone therapy”, a therapeutic
model that postulated that “psychic illnesses are the result of the sexual chaos of society ", thus
advocating a new model of experiencing sexuality. The present research seeks to investigate
historically the advent of body therapies in Brazil in the 60s, 70s and 80s and how this
therapeutic paradigm is related to the sexual education of the time. The history of sex education,
its relationship with the medical field and the possibility of crossing with the therapeutic aspect
of body therapies is observed.The objective of this investigation is to locate, compile and
critically analyze the bibliographic production that specifically addresses body therapies and
their relationship with sexual education within the historical context of the social
transformations that have occurred in these decades. We used as methodological tools the
concepts of dispositif and sexuality offered by Michel Foucault in his History of Sexuality and
the written work of Wilhelm Reich about the function of orgasm in order to better understand
how the arrival and dissemination of body therapies took place in Brazil and its connection with
the development or even censorship that occurred in the sexual education of the same period,
the historical context in which it was disseminated and the ramifications and developments that
came from it. The analysis pointed out that the arrival and diffusion of body therapies
functioned as a type of sexual education, whose focus on the body and a more therapeutic than
pedagogical look delimited its field of action towards the interior of the Psychology universe
after its formalization, while allowing it to grow during Brazil’s military dictatorship.
