Resumo: Corpo e mente são temas estudados há muitos séculos e, desde então, têm sido foco de convergências e divergências no entendimento dessa engrenagem pelas várias áreas das ciências. Estruturando a ideia de que no século XXI, o corpo se mostra impelido a dar conta das exigências da mente ou vice-versa, este trabalho tem o objetivo de ampliar a noção de corpo-mente, estabelecer as bases dessa relação a partir da Psicanálise e, ampliar o conceito da disfunção erétil para além do aspecto físico. Nas questões da sexualidade humana, a impotência psíquica pode se apresentar de várias formas, neste trabalho ela será vista como a base da impotência sexual. Após revisão de literatura, nosso olhar se voltou para os conceitos de Freud e Groddeck sobre o Isso e suas formas de linguagem, a qual contam sobre a vida do sujeito. Nosso aporte metodológico foi elaborar uma pesquisa descritiva exploratória, com base na psicossomática psicanalítica, sobre o conceito de impotência psíquica sendo a base da disfunção erétil. Por meio deste estudo, pretendemos colaborar com o entendimento da impotência masculina como fenômeno psicossomático e sua relação com a sexualidade para futuras pesquisas.

Abstract: Body and mind have been subjects studied for many centuries and, since then, they have been the focus of convergences and divergences in the understanding of this gear by the various areas of science. Structuring the idea that in the 21st century, the body shows itself impelled to meet the demands of the mind or vice versa, this work aims to expand the notion of body-mind, establish the bases of this relationship based on Psychoanalysis and, expand the concept of erectile dysfunction beyond the physical aspect. In matters of human sexuality, psychic impotence can present itself in several ways, in this work it will be seen as the basis of sexual impotence. After reviewing the literature, our look turned to the concepts of Freud and Groddeck about That and its forms of language, which tell about the subject's life. Our methodological contribution was to develop an exploratory descriptive research, based on psychoanalytic psychosomatics, on the concept of psychic impotence being the basis of erectile dysfunction. Through this study, we intend to collaborate with the understanding of male impotence as a psychosomatic phenomenon and its relationship with sexuality for future research.
