Resumo
Partimos do grupo de Maracatu Baque Mulher, um grupo de cultura tradicional afro-brasileira, para exemplificar questões de gênero ligadas à organização e convivência entre as integrantes. Observamos que no Maracatu havia uma diferenciação bem determinada das representações femininas e masculinas. A conquista que vem sendo garantida às mulheres pela presença feminina nos grupos de Maracatu e especificamente no Baque Mulher, suscitou questionarmos qual seria a posição das mesmas nesta manifestação sociocultural, já que diante a realidade de um país com história cultural arraigada no machismo, androcentrismo e no patriarcalismo, faz-se necessário o empoderamento da mulher bem como o incentivo à luta por seus direitos e sua cidadania. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é identificar como o grupo e o movimento feminista Baque Mulher contribui com o empoderamento feminino das integrantes de Recife e do grupo filial de Ribeirão Preto/SP. Como objetivos específicos, buscamos reconhecer as razões de integração e permanência das mulheres no grupo de Maracatu Baque Mulher; verificar se a vivência no grupo de Maracatu Baque Mulher contribui com a autonomia das mulheres e é reconhecida pelas mesmas e compreender historicamente como a constituição do Maracatu Baque Mulher favorece o empoderamento feminino nas manifestações socioculturais afro-brasileiras e na vivência em sociedade. Trata-se de uma pesquisa aplicada em campo, de abordagem qualitativa, as técnicas que foram utilizadas são: observação participante com registros em diário de campo, sendo que as lideranças e integrantes foram informadas e convidas à participação. Para interpretação dos dados, realizamos o levantamento e as análises das referências bibliográficas selecionadas, bem como dos documentos históricos sobre o Maracatu a fim de desenvolver uma pesquisa analítica descritiva sobre as teorias relacionadas às expressões socioculturais de matriz afro-brasileira, ao Maracatu e aos estudos de gênero e uma interpretação analítica dos dados obtidos nos documentos e no diário de campo, por meio da observação participante da pesquisadora integrada ao grupo filial e em vivências do movimento Baque Mulher nacional, almejando desvendar a contribuição do papel feminino no Maracatu para o fortalecimento da equidade de gênero e do empoderamento das mulheres.

ABSTRACT
We started from the group of Maracatu Baque Mulher, a group of traditional Afro-Brazilian culture, to exemplify gender issues related to the organization and coexistence between the members. We observed that in Maracatu there was a well-determined differentiation of female and male representations. The conquest that has been guaranteed to women by the female presence in the Maracatu groups and specifically in Baque Mulher, raised the question of their position in this sociocultural manifestation,considering the reality of a country with a cultural history rooted in chauvinism,androcentrism and in patriarchy, it is necessary to empower women as well as to encourage the struggle for their rights and citizenship. The main purpose of this research is to identify how the Baque Mulher group and the feminist movement contributes to the female empowerment of the members of Recife/Re and the subsidiary group of Ribeirão Preto / SP. As specific goals, we seek to recognize the reasons for the integration and permanence of women in the Maracatu Baque Mulher group; to verify if the experience in the group of Maracatu Baque Mulher contributes to the autonomy of women and is recognized by them and to understand historically how the constitution of Maracatu Baque Mulher favors female empowerment in Afro-Brazilian socialcultural manifestations and experience in society. This is a field applied research, with a qualitative approach, the techniques that were used are: participant observation with field journal records, and the leaders and members were informed and invited to participate. To interpret the data, we conducted the survey and analysis of selected bibliographical references, as well as historical documents on Maracatu in order to develop a descriptive analytical research on theories related to socialcultural expressions of Afro-Brazilian matrix, Maracatu and studies about gender and analytical interpretation of the data obtained in the documents and in the field journal, through the participant observation of the researcher integrated to the subsidiary group and experiences of the Baque Mulher national movement, aiming to unveil the contribution of the female role in Maracatu to the strengthening of equity of gender and women's empowerment.
