RESUMO
O crescimento progressivo e acelerado da população idosa em todo o mundo, inclusive no Brasil, vem configurando um novo cenário na sociedade contemporânea. O envelhecimento da população traz implicações para a sociedade como um todo, de modo que esta precisa estar apta de maneira a propiciar uma melhor qualidade de vida à população idosa. Considerando, dentre outros aspectos, a necessidade do usufruto e vivência da sexualidade. Desse modo, se faz necessário profissionais capacitados em educação sexual para lidar com esse público, incluindo entre elas/es a figura da/o assistente social. Assim, a presente pesquisa, de cunho descritivo e de natureza qualitativa, teve por objetivo investigar a formação inicial e as concepções das/os Assistentes Sociais do município de Pau dos Ferros/RN, sobre Sexualidade e Educação Sexual, com vistas a verificar como elas/es concebem a sexualidade da pessoa idosa e como lidam com a (in)formação sobre a educação sexual voltada para esse público. Assim, delimitamos como lócus de entrevistas os Centros de Referências de Assistência Social (CRAS), por entendermos que é nesse espaço que se promove o fortalecimento de vínculos familiares e comunitários, dentre eles o da pessoa idosa. A pesquisa contou com a colaboração de seis assistentes sociais, que responderam a uma entrevista semi-estruturada contendo 16 perguntas abertas, que foram gravadas e transcritas na íntegra. Seguindo um viés qualitativo, a análise de dados se pautou na análise de conteúdo. Os resultados nos mostram que em algum momento da formação na graduação em Serviço Social elas tiveram contato com a temática da sexualidade. Apesar disso, relataram dificuldades em sua práxisprofissional em abordar este assunto junto aos grupos de convivência de idosas/os, sinalizando que o contato com o tema foi superficial. Quanto às concepções reveladas por esses profissionais, pudemos verificar, por exemplo, que eles confundem sexualidade com educação sexual. Além disso, as assistentes sociais relataram que destinam o trabalho de cunho sexual voltado para a/o idosa/o para outra/o profissional, no caso a/o enfermeira/o, mostrando-nos que há uma lacuna em sua formação inicial, que se reflete, portanto, no campo da atuação profissional. Enfim com o presente estudo, o ensejo não é apenas dar maior visibilidade à sexualidade da pessoa idosa, mas também e sobretudo apontar a importância de abordá-la no contexto da formação inicial e da atuação profissional da/o assistente social, destacando a relevância e a necessidade de uma formação específica destes profissionais para o trabalho de educação sexual direcionado a este público.

ABSTRACT
The fast and continuous growth of the elderly population all over the world, including Brazil, has been establishing a new scenery in the contemporary society. The aging of the population brings consequences to the society in general; therefore it has to be able to provide a better life quality to the elderly population. Considering, among other aspects, the need of usufruct and experience on sexuality. Therefore, it is necessary capable professionals to deal with this specific group, including also the presence of the social worker. Thus, this following research, of a descriptive impress and qualitative nature, has had a goal to investigate the initial formation and the conceptions of the social workers from the county of Pau dos Ferros / RN, about Sexuality and Sexual Education, focusing on checking how they receive the sexuality of the elderly people and how they deal with the formation / information regarding sexual education focused on this group of people.So, we have delimitated for an interview site the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS), for we have believed that it is in this place that the strengthening of familiar and communitarian bounds is promoted, including the elderly people. The research has had the support of six social workers, who responded to a semi-structured survey containing sixteen opened questions, which were recorded and transcripted in full. Following a qualitative way, the data analysis was based on the content analysis. The results have showed us that in some moment of the formation on the graduation of the social workers, they had contact with the sexuality theme. Despite that, they have reported difficulties in their professional practice when it comes to bringing this subject up with the groups of acquaintanceship of elders, showing that the contact with this subject had been superficial. As for the conceptions found by these professionals we could see, for instance, that they confuse sexuality with sexual education. Besides, the social workers have reported they address the sexual theme regarding elderly people to other professionals, nurses, showing us that there is a gap in their initial formation reflecting, therefore, in their professional practice field. Thus, the following study main goal is not merely provide a better visibility to the sexuality of elderly people, but also and specially point out the importance of bringing up this subject in the context of the initial formation and the professional practice of the social worker, highlighting the importance and necessity of a specific formation of these professionals for the work on sexual education directed to this community.
