| Resumo |
RESUMO
Esta pesquisa teórico-conceitual pretende compreender quais são os fatores sociodemográficos evidenciados nas altas taxas de transtornos mentais nos centros urbanos. Como a depressão e a ansiedade são os principais transtornos mentais que acometem os habitantes das cidades contemporâneas, nos concentraremos mais no entendimento destes dois transtornos sob o viés da Sociologia e da Geografia Urbana. A medicina psiquiátrica não entende estes transtornos como doenças (porque não há um marcador biológico que ateste que depressão e ansiedade são doenças do corpo biológico, mas perturbações da mente), por isso tentaremos compreender estes sofrimentos humanos numa perspectiva sociológica e geográfica e que põe em evidência uma gramática de sofrimento atinente a um tempo histórico, social e geográfico específico. Tomando como base dados coletados por pesquisadores do campo médico, lançaremos mão de autores que tecem suas análises sobre a dinâmica social do tempo presente como também, numa tentativa de articular teoria social e teoria do espaço, de autores que compreendam a cidade não como um espaço meramente físico e imutável, mas como espaços sociais, de reprodução material de uma sociedade em um tempo histórico determinado. Por fim, entendemos que são nas cidades capitalistas de matriz neoliberal e urbana, onde o processo de industrialização e urbanização logrou êxito, que o sofrimento humano se generaliza e expressa contradições sociais e dilemas de um tempo.

ABSTRACT
This theoretical-conceptual research intends to understand which are the sociodemographic factors evidenced in the high rates of mental disorders in urban centers. As depression and anxiety are the main mental disorders that affect the inhabitants of contemporary cities, we will focus more on understanding these two disorders from the perspective of Sociology and Urban Geography. Psychiatric medicine does not understand these disorders as diseases (because there is no biological marker that attests that depression and anxiety are diseases of the biological body, but disturbances of the mind), so we will try to understand these human sufferings in a sociological and geographical perspective that puts into evidences a grammar of suffering related to a specific historical, social and geographic time. Based on data collected by researchers in the medical field, we will make use of authors who weave their analyzes on the social dynamics of the present time as well as, in an attempt to articulate social theory and space theory, of authors who understand the city not as a space merely physical and immutable, but as social spaces, of material reproduction of a society in a determined historical time. Finally, we understand that it is in capitalist cities with a neoliberal and urban matrix, where the process of industrialization and urbanization was successful, that human suffering is generalized and expresses social contradictions and dilemmas of a time.
