| Resumo |
Esta tese tem por objetivo compreender a agência política de mulheres negras, através de
diversos movimentos sociais. Parte-se do princípio de que, na medida em que essas foram e são
fundamentais nos processos políticos de resistência da população negra na extensão do
continente africano; suas agências, ou, seus fazeres políticos, devem ser compreendidos a partir
de suas vivências, não apenas em movimentos negros ou feministas.
Com esse objetivo, trajetórias políticas de seis mulheres inseridas em contextos de militância
diferentes na grande São Paulo são trazidas à construção dessa tese, formando um corpus plural
que destaca não necessariamente um movimento de mulheres negras, mas mulheres negras em
movimento. São diversas no que diz respeito à formação política, faixa etária, religiosidade,
classe e orientação sexual.
Se por um lado, as diferenças enriquecem a reflexão, na medida em que permitem que
desessencialização do sujeito coletivo “mulher negra”, expondo sua complexidade; por outro,
favorecem a leitura de circunstâncias recorrentes ainda que em contextos diversos,
possibilitando encontrar eixos e princípios a partir dos quais podemos pensar o fazer político
dessas mulheres.
A perspectiva a partir da qual se pensa a agência dessas mulheres é o da Filosofia Ubuntu. Ela
é a base sobre a qual se entende a construção das sujeitas, as relações que estabelecem em seus
movimentos e, sobretudo, possibilita perceber esses fazeres desde um ponto de vista da
continuidade, do movimento e da ancestralidade.

Abstract: This thesis aims to understand the political agency of black women, through various social
movements. It is assumed that, insofar as these were and are fundamental in the political
processes of resistance of the black population in the extension of the African continent; their
agencies, or their political doings, must be understood based on their experiences, not just in
black or feminist movements.
With this objective, the political trajectories of six women inserted in different militancy
contexts in greater São Paulo are brought to the construction of this thesis, forming a plural
corpus that highlights not necessarily a movement of black women, but black women in
movement. They are diverse with regard to political background, age, religiosity, class and
sexual orientation.
On the one hand, the differences enrich the reflection, as they allow the de-essentialization of
the collective subject “black woman”, exposing its complexity; on the other hand, they favor
the reading of recurrent circumstances, even in different contexts, making it possible to find
axes and principles from which we can think about the political actions of these women.
The perspective from which the agency of these women is thought is that of the Ubuntu
Philosophy. It is the basis on which the construction of subjects is understood, the relationships
they establish in their movements and, above all, it makes it possible to perceive these actions
from a point of view of continuity, movement and ancestrality.
