Resumo
Esta tese dedica-se a desvelar a África e seus elementos culturais presentes nas práticas, nas celebrações e no imaginário de seus descendentes congadeiros. Busca-se identificar, descrever e compreender as permanências africanas dentro do Congado e de que forma elas influenciam a identidade dos grupos e o sentimento de pertença de seus participantes. A pesquisa se realiza por meio da Afroperspectiva enquanto referencial teórico-metodológico com referências na etnografia e em estudos situados no contexto geopolítico do Mundo Africano: Continente- Diáspora, e América Latina, dentre outros em diálogo. Assim, os dados coletados nas conversas aprofundadas, na roda de conversa, no convívio com os grupos e demais participantes da pesquisa são registrados, transcritos, organizados e interpretados à luz da análise de conteúdo. Espera-se com isso descobrir, construir e sistematizar conhecimentos acerca da permanência africana no interior do Congado, respectivamente dos grupos que dele participam.

Abstract
This thesis is dedicated to unveiling Africa and its cultural elements present in the practices, celebrations and the imaginary of its descendants congadeiros. It seeks to identify, describe and understand the African permanences within the Congado and in what way they influence the identity of the groups and the sense of belonging of its participants. The research is carried out through Afroperspectiva as a theoretical-methodological reference with references in ethnography and in studies in the geopolitical context of the African World: Continent-Diaspora, and Latin America, among others in dialogue. Thus, the data collected in the in-depth conversations, the conversational wheels, the interaction with the groups and other participants of the research are recorded, transcribed, organized and interpreted in light of the content analysis. It is hoped, therefore, to discover, construct and systematize knowledge about the African permanence within the Congado, respectively of the groups that participate in it.
